Take a relaxing cycle in the quiet Leitrim Countryside on an electric bike. Pedal the bike at your own pace and get battery assistance when you need it. Escape the traffic and take in the fresh air. Choose from the following mapped trails:

  • a short 17 km cycle around Sheemore - the Fairy Hill steeped in myths and legends of Fionn Mac Cubhail and the great battle of the fairies and then explore Carrick on Shannon with lots of coffee shops, restaurants and many attractions. Take a guided Historical Walking Tour of the town by contacting Tommy at 083 3329942 (price not included in this package). The Farmers Market on a Thursday is a real treat for all things local.
  • A 22 km cycle on a quiet canal side road to Bellantra Bridge to see the majestic River Shannon flow out of Lough Allen. You can then explore Drumshanbo Village where you can mingle with the locals and avail of refreshments in one of the many traditional bars, shops or restaurants or drop into the Lough Allen Hotel for lunch before you take a slightly different route back to base along a quiet country road and make the most of the tranquillity and remoteness off the beaten track.
  • a 36km cycle to Lough Key Forest and Activity Park for all the fun of this very popular amenity including a visitors centre with restaurant, Lough Key Experience, Adventure Play Kingdom, Boda Borg and Zipit Forest Adventure.  There are numerous trails through the native woodlands, bog garden and forests and even a Moone Boy Trail or explore King House in Boyle Town;
  • a 38km scenic trip to visit the Arigna Mining Experience, (where you can take a guided tour of the oldest coal mines in Ireland, There are many historical places of interest along the way including a fine example of a holy well,  megalithic tumbs, sweat house and much more. You have the option to return to base or carry on to Knockvicar where you can lock up the bike and take the Bog Walk Nature Trail. This nature trail will take just over 1 hour - very tranquil experience of a unique bog eco system with a hidden gem thrown in.
  • or a 32km trip up Sliabh Anierin (the Iron Mountain) famous for many stories and legends of ancient Ireland from tales of Tuatha De Dannan and Fionn Mac Cubhail. Spectacular views over the countryside.
